Notary Services
You may need to see a notary to obtain a range of documents for use abroad such as:
- A certified copy of a passport;
- Certified copies of other documents such as academic qualifications or exam certificates;
- A power of attorney (which you will need to sign in the presence of a notary);
- An acknowledgment (which you will need to sign in the presence of a notary);
- An affidavit or declaration (which you will need to sign in the presence of a notary);
- Papers connected with the adoption of a child from abroad;
- Forms for opening and closing foreign bank accounts;
- Applications to renew visas and passports;
- Buying and selling property abroad;
- The authentication of personal documents for immigration or emigration or to work or travel or marry abroad;
- Preparation and authentication of permissions for one parent to travel with children;
- Applications for childrens passports where one parent will not be present;
- Sponsorship forms;
- The authentication of company documents including certificates of good standing and patent applications;
- Depending on the country any notarised document may also require an apostille or legalisation by an embassy or consulate. Please see our handy guide to apostille requirements by country
